Style on an Officer budget

Hey there!

I have been out of the loop and a little out of my routine due to some major changes the Officer and I have made. As you read a few posts back the Officer and I started cross fit and are 3 weeks in to paleo!! Woot woot. I want to die a little bit on the inside because I have an INTENSE love/hate relationship with cross fit.

I love the change I already feel and I hate that I have been sore for 2 weeks.

I love how quick the work outs are but I hate that I did pull ups for the first time since the 5th grade PE assessment yesterday.

I love that it is competitive and requires discipline and stretches me, but I hate that I fight back throw up or actually throw up some where during the work out...haha yes this happened.

TRY a class or a week! It's amazing but it aint for sissies.

Back to the purpose of the post. I wanted to share some affordable fashion inspirations and fun crafters that I follow that make us Officer families capable of having cute and nice things on our budget.

I have been reading this one for months but just discovered this one. The first one has great fashion steals and sales on affordable cute clothes and the other one has life organization and my personal favorite: how to maximize your closet.

I love this crafter and just discovered this one. These are some of the most creative people ever. I wish I had the brain space to come up with this stuff.

I am a new woman because of this one. I am not great with hair but because of her tutorials I have figured out how to tease and get volume on a regular day and change of from the boring every day hair styles.

That's what this Mrs. is reading these days!

Happy Tuesday!

UPdates!!

Hey bloggies,

HAPPY EASTER!! Hubs and I have been celebrating since Thursday when my pretty pretty sister came in town from Tech! Love this girl!

She is a junior in nursing school at Tech and the most focused student I have ever seen. I wish I loved school as much as Gu does. Anyway we hung out with her, saw Water for Elephants (LOVEd but you must read the book!), got pedicures, shopped, and went to church friday night. Hubs didnt get to do all of these things because he was keeping the city safe during most of these times.

Meet my perfect niece Blakely on the day she was born....

Now Check HER OUT!
O.M.G the cutest little bunny on the planet....so glad we got to spend Easter with her and fam!

Then I made these delicious wraps...you can find the super easy recipe HERE from my friend Erynn's blog
Chicken wraps...Jeffy and I LOVED these!!!
Say hello to the sweetest gift ever....I co-lead a small group of AMAZING SMU freshman and they threw me a little bebe shower and we painted these onesies...this is them drying in the back of my car. I love them.

So that is what I have been up to lately...

The Lord has been working on me too. This becoming a mom thing is SUCH a refinement process. So many selfish desires have been revealed to me and the Lord is teaching me to release them. As my body changes and I grow out of each pair of jeans I fight the lie that its a bad thing, and at the same time I have to fight the lie that I can eat everything in sight. I find myself driving down the road and imagining my baby in the back...and the fact that in just 4 months I WILL SEE a baby back there. I feel so undeserving of this bundle and sometimes not enough for he/she as well. It does make me however, so thankful for a father who loves me and gives me ALL that I need. So refreshing.

Well I am off to visit THIS lady tomorrow in HUNTSVILLE and can't wait. She was one of the most influential people in my during college and I lOVE that we have kept up!

More blogging to come!!

Black FRIDAY tips and prep..

OMG!!! LOVE ME SOME BLACK FRIDAY...

This Friday will be exactly TWO WEEKS AWAY...can I get a AMEN!!!?!

Ok so how do you prep?

1. Stop shopping and save ALL money you would have spent for black Friday deals!!

2. Check out the "hot items" of the seasons coming soon HERE!!!! To know where to go and what to look for.

3. BUY a news paper Thanksgiving day and you will get the most adds you have ever seen in your life. O.M.G....I heart thanksgiving day adds so much. They are basically fully catalogs...I mean I drool over them when I see the news paper on the front porch.

4. See what your most important items are, the best give aways and then map your course...I know it sounds crazy if you never participate but if you are a go big or go home girl....YOU MUST ADOPT the black Friday ritual. You will never be the same. I typically hit target first because they have the $1 -$10 DVDs and the flat screen that is on sale for like $200 and the camera that is $99 and then I head to the mall and remain there until about 1 in the afternoon.

Places to avoid like the plague unless you are absolutely desperate:

-Kohl's...omg one year I went here for ornaments....big FAT NOT WORTH IT!!! The line was literally wrapped around the store and women were monsters in my nightmares...
-Best Buy...omg these are like the people who wait in line for the dark shadows convention...CRAZY. They camp out all night and you feel like you are part of a cult...it can be a fruitful trip but be ready for the experience.
-The Allen Outlet mall...this is a PERFECT place on a regular day but at 12am when it opens...DISAPPOINTMENT. Sales are no different, clothes are the exact same but people are like VAMPIRES.

TUNE IN FOR the HOTTTTTT Items!!!!
