SO speaking of this little hunny's 4 month birthday....
I am finally making her room girly.
People often ask me if I ever regret not finding out the gender until she was born and the answer is NO. The whole experience of not knowing and letting it be Roxie's little secret was magical. I know that sounds cheesy but when the doctor flipped her over for Officer to announce to the room and we both melted in tears I think how I would NEVER EVER trade that moment for anything.
However, this means we have a LOT of yellow and green since those are neutral colors pleasing to both genders. Roxie's room is yellow and her bedding is green gingham, brown, white and elephant with baby chicks sitting on the trunk. The room over all at first was probably a little more "boy" but the bedding itself is more "girl". I love her bedding. Its from pottery barn kids and its just so sweet. I really hate taking pictures of Fox's room to share because it ends up making the walls look so neon and they are not.
I have spent the past 4 months deciding how I was to add some girly pink accents to her room and this is what has inspired me:
I found this the first day I got on Pinterest. It was amazing. My design is pretty eclectic and since the room was originally pretty neutral I just wanted to add some girly flair.
I made this last week inspired by another pinterest find:
Spray painted canvas to be a chalkboard...totally brill for the eclectic room I was going for.
Now I'm working on finishing her letters, and making a mobile...I know I'm terrible that I haven't added one yet but I didn't like the one I thought I would and so I just decided to keep looking.
To pinterest I go and the final room pictures to come!
"We often find our safest and most beautiful places where the lava once flowed."- Maria Goff I have been married to my officer for almost 9 years. For 2 years in that time he was a reserve and then we returned to full service again. The first 5 years were ugly and hard but now they are redemptive and beautiful. Still hard. But exactly where we are suppose to be. The story I never would have written for myself. An Officer's wife.

Preg-Nation
Hey friends...
I am alive.
I am almost 17 weeks pregnant.
I am in the, what I like to call "tweener" stage of pregnancy.
Maternity clothes look ridiculous and my cute clothes are tight and make me look like I ate one too many burritos.
SO WHAT AM I LEFT WITH?? Hah...my uniform shirts from HIGH SCHOOL- shout out to Parker uniform wearers from back in the day and stretchy pants. I have been drooling like crazy on this blog dreaming of the days I will get to dress cute again.
I have been swimming, lifting and running about two miles at a time. I start every day with a protein shake and conclude every day with thin mints and/or a corn dog. BABY LOVES CORN DOGS AND HOT DOGS....I know I am one sick preggy...but what baby wants baby gets.
The highlights...I am growing a baby. The Lord is refining me to be a better woman and follower of him. And life is sweet. I enjoy my job and I love the hustle and bustle. I feel so blessed that the Lord has allowed me to enjoy every stage of being pregnant and not be anxious for the future but content to be where I am at.
That is an update from what has been a blogging slump. I have the best anti-stretch cream mixture I am going to share because all ingredients can be found at Whole Foods (insert big sigh of love right here) and Walgreens. It smells like a beach and makes your skin super elastic and soft....get EXCITED because its two ingredients.
Good night bloggies.

Sewing in the city
This is for all you creatives out there who have thought to yourself, "Couldn't I just make that myself?"
Well if you have ever thought that, you MUST with a capital MUH visit the new IT Dallas sewing club. You will have a ball looking at all there bright prints and designer fabrics and then the best part, their total girls club classes! Some of my friends and I have been trying to get in one of their classes for months! But they fill up like a Taylor Swift concert!!
Check them out! They also offer more casual sewing nights to come and create on a more low key level and offer classes for everything from beginners sewing, to cute little aprons!!
Here is bright preview of a way to start your spring decorating inspiration

:
I love these pattern prints! Wouldn't they be great table runners at a backyard wedding? Or even accents at a garden wedding. I am working on some style boards that will incorporate patterns into a wedding scheme!!
Be looking for those post to come!
I am writing sick in bed so I am off to sleep!
